Hello!
It seems that on the Tab S8 (LCD panel) the implementation of the eye comfort shield simply overlays a orange image on top of the screen buffer.
This implementation is stupid because dark areas / black colors will become a brownish color and a lot of contrast is lost. The correct way is to adjust the color calibration.
Also sadly on the Tab S8 there is no option to adjust the white balance in the screen settings like on AMOLED devices. Only settings for natural and vibrant color.
Samsung can you hear us and reply to this issue?
Searching the net I see that this issue with samsung devices with LCD is ongoing for 2 years now.
Many customers suffer from this issue and sent back their devices with LCDs.
Maybe this issue is simple to fix via software update?
Maybe Samsung could allow us to use / enable the Stock Android integrated "Nightlight Mode" which should be a much better implementation.
As reference see e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyTab/comments/mu8m5a/samsungs_blue_light_filter_eye_comfort_shield_is
